Much as I miss getting out of the house and taking pictures with my Nikon D40x, which got stolen from the trunk of my car last November, I’m not going to replace it - not with another D40x, nor D40 nor D60. All three of these cameras were fairly decent beginner cameras. All three are on Craigslist now for ridiculous prices. They take a variety of lenses but won’t auto-focus quite a few.
The D90’s I’ve picked and held a few times, trying to get myself warmed up to the idea of buying one. But for the money, I’d just as soon pay a little more and get the D300s.
The D7000, I won’t buy.
A D700, that would be a dream-come-true, I think if I had a lot money to dedicate to lenses. Elsewise it’s a step up to professional grade equipment I can’t really justify.
Tomorrow is gay pride parade day weekend kick off and I’m wishing I had a camera to like my D40x to walk around and take pictures with.
