A friend of a friend took this shot which originally included more of the room, the floor and a closet. It was taken to document some upgrades to this fellow’s house. Immediately though, it caught my eye as a photo with artistic potential.

Essentially, photography is about capturing light while on some level tracing it back to its source. This photo, which is elegant in terms of composition and substance, requires only a brief glance, and — suddenly — one’s imagination is captivated by the sun itself, in a zen-like fashion…
